Texas candidates are running earlier this year than ever before for a May 2023 election. It used to be they file in January 2023 with the district. Now the state cleared candidates to do some “intent to file” paperwork?
Do you know Brittany Hendrickson, Rachel Elliott, or Jim Westerheid? They are running for school board seats for McKinney ISD (MISD).
What are these candidates’ intentions for serving on the school board? The public comment videos below will provide some answers. My analysis of these school board comments by these candidates and their websites is that each of these candidates have several concerns about how MISD is managed.
I believe that McKinney Independent School District is doing a great job serving a diverse community:
· Rated the Best Place to Work by the Dallas Business Journal for a fifth year
· 100% teachers are certified
· 93% teachers have 3 or more years of experience
· 97.9% Graduation Rate
· 60% minority enrollment
· 24.0% of students are economically disadvantaged
